B. Michael Radburn and THE NEXT BIG THING

Blackwater-Moon-300x0[1]

1) What is the [working] title of your next book?
Blackwater Moon, released last October.

2) Where did the idea come from for the book?
Originally a collection of loosely connected short stories, I realised there was potential for a major work with a unique twist in the tale.

3) What genre does your book fall under?
My major works are predominately crime, but always with a dark edge, often bordering on the supernatural. With Blackwater Moon, I wanted to take the crime novel to a new level and explore the residue left after the crime.

4) What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?
I’d like Russell Crow to play Andy Walker, my main character.

5) What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?A3 BMR Poster_001
A crime thriller set in the small river town of Blackwater, its deep waters concealing the sins of its fathers.

6) Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
Blackwater Moon is published by Pantera Press http://www.panterapress.com.au/and available at all good book stores, Amazon Kindle and ibooks.

7) How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?
18-months. That’s the deadline I give all my books.

8) What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Mystic River

9) Who or what inspired you to write this book?
As many of the back stories were based on experiences from my own youth on the Nepean River, Blackwater Moon is purely self inspired.

10) What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest?
Although Blackwater Moon is a crime novel, it’s the story of place and the relationships of fathers and sons.
